EastonSN+
17 hours ago, NyWxGuy said: C-? Since average is 29-30” for CPK, and average is like a B, then I would say this is like a C+ winter. And only because we haven’t reached average snowfall yet. With the cold we’ve had and all the ice, that’s been an A. Coldest winter since 2015 I believe. But yeah in the snow department I’d say B- because we’re still a little below average. personally, cold notwithstanding, my grading scale is F: 10” or less. (Ratter winters) D: 11-14” C-: 15-18” C: 19-22” C+: 23-25” B-: 26-28” B: 29-32” B+: 33-36” A-:37-40” A: 41-44” A+:45” or higher Not sure what CPKs average is now. It went from about 27 to 30 because of the 2000 through 2018 bonanza. I am going to amend my stance. C- for CPK if there is no more snow. For my area picked up another inch today and SLIGHTLY above average for the year so C+.

steve392
Had a dusting overnight. It's 11 right now and winds are done if the strongest I've experienced in a while. Hoping the 2nd floor bedroom windows don't crack from being slammed around facing the north and west.
Prue11
Winds aren’t nothing too crazy. We had plenty worse earlier in December. the worst part about the wind is the wind chill right now

eduggs
It's been a real struggle to get any snow threats inside 10 days since Jan 25. Nothing has broken right for us for two weeks. We can't even buy a good snow shower despite unrelenting cold. The midweek threat is gone and the weekend threat is looking shaky. A cold, windy day like today only rubs salt in the wound without fresh snow and/or a trackable threat. The vibe and feel of this winter changes quickly as you go from SNJ through NENJ to CT and then EMA. South of CNJ this has been a cold but mostly snowless winter. But once you cross into CT and SNE in most areas this has been a downright snowy winter.

Still with the huge snow event down south so DC to just about Philly is the shaft zone. Was us last winter. The character of this winter is very similar to last year, Pacific very similar to last winter. Hopefully we can get a Nino next winter and switch things up.

wishcast_hater
What’s your snowpack up there this morning?I’m at work in the city and won’t be back until about 4 pm. Definitely deeper than my snow boots as I was loading up on firewood yesterday. Probably 12” and I eyeballed around 1.5” of new snow on the car when I left for work around 5 am. .

It's not just that we had no snow but the fact that we can't get any precip at all. Currently we're in a moderate drought with very low reservoirs. If this continues into Spring we're going to be in trouble. Any storms (rain or snow) shown by models are in fantasy range.

We had a 10"-18" storm area wide just two weeks ago, it's not that bad. This has been the best winter in 5 years.
