Do recall when we had the storm, I think it was 2000---- that did nothing? I thought it had a similar Upper Air pattern...but many years ago. At least phasing was the issue I recall. I remember seeing the red screen on TWC and being in 12-18" never saw a flake.

PackGrad05
2 things: I've cringed when meteorologists on TV have said "this is either snow or nothing, no rain or mixing". Way too early to say that... This thing can still trend inland and bring rain to central NC. Mike Maze just said that the Euro came in with more snow but it was an "Off-hour run" that they don't put as much stock in.
BooneWX
It’s not a thousand hours out either. This puppy is on our doorstep by Friday afternoon. 60 hrs roughly for western areas.

Listen, if we have to worry about sleet cutting into our totals, we're talking some pretty epic totals.

KyleEverett
I can't let myself feel hope again. I've lived in the Metrolina area for a decade now and haven't had anything like this. I've seen so many modelled storms fizzle into nothing or Raleigh gets to have the fun. I'm still waiting for the rug pull.

Sent from my Pixel 10 Pro XL using Tapatalk Late January 1996 (heavy snow, with a bout of sleet in the middle of the event) and early February 1996 (sleet). Also had some random snow showers a week after the second storm. I lived in Greensboro at the time and the secondary streets in town were ice covered for three weeks.
olafminesaw
He has a point, we are still in a relatively delicate position. However, spread will continue to narrow. If we can hold until Tommorow nights runs, we'll be feeling pretty good.
