  1. Praying that radar fills in south of Charlotte haha
  2. GSP at least isn't biting on snow for my area. Hoping it materializes though. 3 inches of fluffy day time snow would be a dream.
  3. Rock Hill and Charlotte are really rough spots to be. So many storms to the west, north, and east of us.
  4. Confirming snow in Rock Hill, SC. There's still a bunch of ice melt happening from the freezing rain and sleet today though. Right around freezing.
  5. Hoping those radar returns from the ULL rotate all the way to CLT as snow.
  6. Power outages spreading through the southern piedmont and the sandhills. 32 and still raining.
  7. Up to 31 degrees and pure rain. Icicles getting longer. Now's the dangerous time waiting for it to get over 32.
  8. Winds are starting to pick up. Honestly a bit eerie the way the taller pines are swaying.
  9. 27/24 still with a decent Northeast wind. I don't know if we make it above freezing today at this rate.
  10. After Sleet and Freezing Rain, I need some snow in the Piedmont.
  11. The ice accretion is kinda insane. I'm stunned outages haven't become more widespread yet.
  12. In Charlotte, it seems to be Mount Holly in Gaston County as the bulk of it. I'm really surprised York County south of Charlotte doesn't have more with as much ice accretion we have so far.
  13. Congrats to the upstate members! Waking up in Rock Hill. It is 28/23 at the airport and it's been rain/sleet all night. If there was snow it wasn't much if at all. I have icicles on bushes and eaves. Power outages so far seem minimal around the Charlotte metro.
  14. 35/23 now with Light Snow. GSP updated the grid forecast for my area back to snow/sleet. Rain likely before 3am, then sleet likely between 3am and 4am, then snow and sleet after 4am. Low around 28. Northeast wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  15. Mix of rain and flakes. This is ahead of forecasted for sure. Was supposed to be all rain to start for us.
  16. I can't say for sure but I think I have really fine sleet happening in Rock Hill. 37/22. Not very heavy but it's loud.
  17. 38/24. Dew point slowly dropping. Winds still variable though but feels mostly east or northeast.
  18. I'm trying to not let my anxiety hit me too hard today. Trying to tell myself that the last few times they forecasted half an inch of ice accretion everything was fine, but what if this time it actually happens. I hate freezing rain.
  19. 43/28 in Rock Hill. Looks like we'll hit our high of 46 today. Winds shifting from East to North.
  20. Honestly I'm hoping for that. The cold models are sleet, mean is ice storm, the warmest may push us over to 34 and rain around CLT. I'll take that.
  21. I don't want to lose power again. Not when it's going to be freezing out. I'd rather take 34 and rain dang it. Rock Hill, SC here.
  22. I see that cut off over the area south of KCLT. I'm too used to cold rain while Charlotte sees snow. I don't believe it.
  23. 44 with a 32F dewpoint in York County, SC. Honestly surprised we were added to the WWA and they brined the roads.
  24. Rain/Sleet mix south of Rock Hill, SC. Sleet accumulating sloppily on cars and decks. Current temp around 36.
