The temperature has dropped 2° in the last 45 minutes.  That's one element that I really wasn't expecting at this time of day.  18° snow/sleet mix.

Went from 19 to 22.  Wind is howling at times though.

11-12" here in Somerset County...that's with almost 3 hours of sleet/freezing rain...the thump was real

not seeing any zr thank god, but this sleet is accumulating. where i shoveled a path for the dogs earlier is buried. still sleeting to beat the band out. we might bust high after all.

This is the heaviest sleet I can remember since I was a child in like 1992 I believe?

I remember the ice being so thick on the snow top that I could walk on it and push around my big tonka trucks without it sinking down.

Back when Tonka trucks were solid and had some heft.  All plastic now.

Looks like the coastal is robbing the moisture from Western LI right now. Lighter echoes, while to the west NE NJ continues to absolutely crush. Someone will get 2 feet around there. Down to 19.7 WTF

Thats what we actually want.means we go back to snow quicker. Everything is crashing to the coast rn. The low is also southeast of modeling and getting organized fast.

Thanks for mentioning that.  I went and looked at a bunch of wunderground stations and it looks like the north shore spots have dropped a degree or two and around the expressway just started dropping a little.  Curious to see if that turns around soon by you.  I assume you're not very much south of the expressway.

I think it's back to all sleet and some snow now,  but definitely freezing rain a couple hours ago mixed in. It's icy out there.

I run a weather page on Facebook for my town and I stuck with 8-12" since Monday. Ended right at the upper end.

Was a nice surprise to be closer to 12 than 8
