I’m working on moving the glacier outside. This is next level stuff if you moved the snow off yesterday your screwed. I need an ice breaker like the use on Lake Erie lol. My department did this video I can Garnett schools will be closed all week.

Very, very glad I waited to shovel the snow. Our strategy for moving the glacier was to take a hammer and break the ice crust into very large pieces, and to lift those pieces and toss them aside. It actually worked really well. The sleet crust cleanly separates from the soft snow underneath which was easy to shovel.

Wasn’t sure where to ask so I figure here:

how long would it need to be this cold for the Bay to freeze over like 1977?

Can't say for sure but if you want something interesting to look out check this out: https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/ofs/ofs_mapplots.html?ofsregion=cb&subdomain=0&model_type=wtemp_forecast

The bay is very cold right now and places below 30 on that map are where freezing is imminent

Already seeing snowfall maps making the rounds on Twitter and other platforms. We need to limit access to this information for the general public, lol. Hilariously stupid to post these so early in a forum like that!

Should of seen the jack wagon who posts on fb as eastern panhandle weather. And Apple weather is just a janky app. It said it was 22 degrees in hagerstown when it was avg around 13-14 at the time. Very poor app.

We shoveled snow yesterday then used our super scooper today to get at the compacted sleet.  This thing is a game changer.  Scraped the sleet off like a hot knife through butter.  Currently being passed around the neighborhood, hope we get it back.  Its a game changer.  What is nice too is the bottom is like a sled so you just slide it up the snow bank and dump.  Super easy on the back
