anthonymm
That 4.3" in the park is probably higher now. has been snowing at a good clip since 7 in the city.
Yanksfan
Nutley township received 3.5”. Down but by no means out. Going forward January showing signs of delivering the goods.

hooralph
Just getting online and was going to report my storm total estimate of about 3" when I see CPK recorded 4.3". LOL... It's definitely not as deep as the one two weeks ago, though clearly more dense/ more WE.
dWave
Measured about 3" in Bronx Park E 4" in CPK isn't bad. I couldn't find any 4" spot around here. Anywhere I measured was fairly consistent 2.5" to 3". Maybe areas to the south got into that ocean effect band?

Not too bad considering how it started out with the sleet and then the dry slot. As I said last night, the back end of this storm with the light to moderate snow saved this event from being a massive bust for our area. At least the long period of light snow overnight got us above 2 inches. It's still isn't over with it snowing lightly out there right now.
CPcantmeasuresnow
Ended up with 5.6, 17.2 inches now for the season. A shade under the 8 I was expecting but no complaints

That's why I told you to look out the window late last night lol. It was odd that you kept calling it over when snow had moved in. Thank goodness for the back end of the storm to at least get our area to a respectable amount, even though it was still an underperformer. 1

psv88
Picked up .7” overnight to end with 5.2”. Areas just to my south with 6-7” from that ocean effect snow. 14” for the season. Great month.
MANDA
Finished up with 2.8" here. Had about .70" crusty crap when I went to bed at around 11:15 but radar had filled in nicely and I was expecting 1-2" additional based on that. Fell just short of the low end of my forecast of 3-6". Melted total was exactly .5" and that was right in line with the model consensus. Was thinking .4 - .6". I knew we were in trouble very early on with sleet all through EPA, including Scranton and most of western NJ starting out as mostly sleet. No matter it looks nice out there this morning. My street is a mess from the sleet being covered by snow and temperatures in the upper teens. Kind of an ice sheet even with salting. Compressed sleet in cold temperatures covered by snow never a good thing.

I got four just based on sticking the ruler in the snow this morning after the fact, probably closer to 5 if I'd done it properly throughout the storm. I believe the 7 in Babylon 20 minutes east of here. The NW to SE gradient shown in virtually all the forecast maps verified, at least in my neck of the woods. After seeing all the reports this morning above 4" im thrilled that NNJ and NYC should all fall within the 3-6" range. Def gonna have to bring the 0-1 range back in the picture for Ocean Mercer and Monmouth it seems @Sey-Mour Snow Probably the best forecast I've seen, especially for NJ, where most forecasters had significantly higher numbers and the only area that achieved 3+" was NENJ from Union to Bergen Counties and most of Morris/Sussex and they were in your 3-6" swath. Your 1-3" swath was right on for the most part, as was having the 6-10" forecast mostly limited to areas N of 84 and NE through CT and including Suffolk - not all of those places reached 6", but those were the only areas that did see reports over 6".

I was far enough south yesterday to get into some of that ocean effect snow, definitely gave me an additional 1/2 to 1” or snow. Nothing to complain about. Islip having a great early season. They must be close to a foot already as well.

We back up to the Berkshire Valley Wildlife Management Area. It is very quiet and peaceful. Sometimes if the atmospheric conditions are right we can hear the hum of Rt. 80 but in NJ hard to get away from all road noise no matter where you go. Bear, deer, fox and sometimes wild turkeys wander through the backyard.
