It’s an exactly as expected .. if anything a bonus this morning for us here. RRFS nailed the ending and qpf.. 

2.5” with the heaviest snow of the event for the next hour or so it seems. Starting the snow removal now .

Also I won the bet against the pope so we shouldn’t be hearing from him til Jan 1s. Your welcome

You can look at higher tilts. Sometimes depending on wind directions you have the radar blocked. Been like that for awhile.

I’m not a radar expert so I’m not sure what exactly is going on at BOX specifically. It doesn’t look like a tree/mtn/blockage issue. If you go up to 2 or 3 it improves a bit.

Lol…Ya Pope should be gone for a while. Didn’t he tell us no snow with this-as soon as he said that, you just knew it was coming. 
 

Unless around Xmas ends up being warm, then he’ll come in and gloat. Hoping that doesn’t happen.

Our forecast busted here. Was supposed to be 30% chance and an inch or less… got a few inches already and it’s snowing well with big fluffy flakes

Yeah I just pulled up the 12/2 event where it was raining hard there and we don't really see anything similar.  Blockage/trees aren't going away obv.  In that event I do see very faint hints of filtering near the radar (very low levels) along the isodop and the clutter removal may be 'tricked' by strong signal but velocity near zero...  

Today's event has much less signal especially near the ground. The low level winds are basically nil, metar at KTAN reporting calm so velocity is again near zero even though it's not associated with the isodop this time.  My guess is it's still thinking clutter in certain areas, or in this case maybe some other kind of false signal...  But it is definitely a filter of some kind not blockage.

Yeah that was my thinking…some filtering algorithm due to clutter.
