Had my share, relaxing now. Made the weekly 2 week pilgrimage to a Duke cancer center for wife’s direct chemo infusion. We are fighting the good fight. She is walking the walk with incredible grace. 28.5/27.2 at 9:30 here. Although I am one county off from the just issued WSW, I'll take whatever falls. The models have done nothing but increase snowfall with each run it seems.

Just got the WSW text for my yard. Welcome surprise. Lowest stress warning level storm I can remember. Never expected it and here it is 8 hours before onset lol. Awesome

Frankly, I just want the northern crew to sound like we are used to snow and brush these misses off like a dusting on the windshield.

Latest HRRR and FV3 both get snow up into DC. No help for me out here though.

Glancing at records for 12/8, Roanoke's top three are 8.0 in 1917, 5.4 in 1976 and 5.1 in 1989. Lynchburg had 3.2 in 1917, 2.8 in 1976 and 3.1 in 1989. Don't think the Roanoke mark is in jeopardy, but Lynchburg's certainly is with 3-5 forecasted now.

Yep, not as much as last night but some accretion on elevated surfaces here. Sitting at 29, 3 degrees colder than NWS hourly forecast

You betcha. The western ridge is semipermanent. Cold air will continue along with storm after storm after storm after storm after storm after storm after storm after storm after storm.

Snow gods love the Mid Atlantic this winter. You will all see soon enough! ENJOY!

I lost a very special friend to the big C a few years ago. She was robbed of a beautiful life much too soon.  Hopefully, your wife can beat this bastard.
