I love that you love seeing it dump in the Sierras. I'm going to Tahoe the first week of May for work and plan to spend a day or two spring skiing at Palisades... looks like they'll be running well into late May at least! I've never been out there so really looking forward to it. Unbelievable

I may have an opportunity to go to Tahoe in early May for a work meeting and am thinking I'll see how the skiing is at Palisades. I think they stay open through freaking July! Just unreal

Late Feb/March Medium/Long Range Discussion
Dendrimer77 replied to WinterWxLuvr's topic in Mid Atlantic
While winter in northern parts of the forum has been decent, it has sucked pretty royally in central VA (I'm in CHO). What is most depressing is the lack of confidence the models and weekly products produced this winter, and how gun-shy it has made all of us. Tough to believe the tools we have until things line up right with correlation. Oh well, there's always beer to drink. -

I think most people would prefer wall to wall winter, cold and snow. What are we doing here if not?

Maybe this new water science finding will be inserted into our atmospheric dynamics models and allow them to spit out 15 back to back to back HECS by February 14. https://www.earth.com/news/water-molecule-discovery-will-force-textbooks-to-be-rewritten/ -

I personally like Weather Will's contributions, including these crazy maps. Have some Christmas cheer, man....or at least have another spiked egg nog. Merry Christmas everyone! May we all be blessed with massive snows soon.

Had a conference in Denver this week, so had to try out Western skiing at least once in my life. Copper Mountain with 8" of fresh snow. Unbelievable. Had to travel like a mofo just to see some snow this winter.

Despite solid radar, still no snow making it to the ground down here in Charlottesville. Virga virga-ing it

Eff, I'd take that in a heartbeat over the balmy, South Florida weather we've had at Christmas lately
