I think he knows that and is poking you lol.. Detroit usually gets more snow than Chicago despite a few epic Chicago storms, and most here know that. 1

No one would argue against that. But of course, Chicago does better with big dogs. In terms of seasonal snowfall and snowcover, Detroit may do slightly better, but it's not a big enough difference worth quibbling over.

Well when winters suck and are boring like they have been for years, there's nothing else to do on here than quibble back n forth with josh for fun. Stevo6899
Looks like macomb twp coming in at 4 inches. Snow depth has to be close to double digits there.

hawkeye_wx
Wind is gusting to 60-70 mph in wc IA and ec NE. DVN has issued a blizzard warning for my area. I'm not sure we'll get enough snow to justify that.

I'm not sure we'll get enough snow to justify that. they need to bring back blowing snow advisories. the simplification movement to elimination those, and instead use a winter storm/blizzard warning or winter weather advisory, seems bad.

Over the past 20 years, Detroit has averaged 6.8" more annual snowfall and 5 more annual 1"+ snowcover days despite a DJF avg temp 1.3° warmer than Chicago. Obviously it isn't a huge difference, and it shouldn't be with the two places latitude and proximity. But the same thing goes for big dogs. It isnt like Chicago gets one every winter. Other than those few, the overall snowstorm climo is also quite similar.
