If you look at ensemble members at this range during a time period where there is possible threat, they will inevitably show solutions like the one shown on that infamous 6Z run from last Wednesday.  Nobody ever takes that a random ensemble member seriously at that range.  But when the op shows it, people hold out hope, even if it never shows up again.

I am getting reports from both kids. The one in DC is not happy with her cold rain. Meanwhile the one up in Carlisle PA just found out her campus is closed today. And here in Frederick Co I just checked and FCPS MD is closed. My weather app says light freezing rain here. But I am sure up in the mountains it is more than that.

ETA with no kids in FCPS anymore just found out the reason for no 2 hr delay was today is an early dismissal day. So would not have made sense to do a delay only to send the kids back home.

Looks like a coating of something white from my camera. Live view is showing some snow falling, not sure if there is any sleet/freezing rain mixed in.

Looked like that here about dawn as light filtered in, but it was all sleet from earlier. Now 50% gone with the heavier rain/freezing rain falling. I reported 0.2" for the sleet (that was on the board), there was 0.53" in the gauge of sleet and freezing rain once it all melted. Oh what a degree up a bit higher would have done.... currently at 8 am right at 32.0/31.7 with rain/freezing rain. About 0.1 of ice in trees and elevated stuff.

*this* close in your yard, dangit. Kinda like what others have mentioned tho, it's nice to see this having some precip and not just a shredded out virga mess.

Temps here have leveled off at around 30.6 for the last hour or so. Huge dendrites now accumulating rapidly - probably 3/4 inch in the last half hour. What's nice is not a breath of wind.

Curious what the actual temp profile was when the precip moved in to see how where the warm layer was and how much we actually missed by.
