I think you threw one of those lyrics out there last week too and I waited for one of the locals to respond but I believed it was crickets on that so I went all in this time...I like living on the edge...

I actually don’t think that’s coming this year . I think it holds off until January when winter more or less ends . Like mid or maybe latter Jan.

It would be really nice to avoid the default holiday screamer this season, we can hope.

I went back to 1970 and calculated the amount of years Detroit had a 10”+ pack on each calendar day. They don’t frequently see a 10”+ pack, but it did warm my heart to see a spike the week before Christmas.

it's wild that in 55 years, Detroit has never had a pack 10" or greater after 3/14.  I know that area sucks for snow but wowzers

I feel like Detroit is just in a shit area for snow. Too far removed from Lake Michigan to get the good LES and generally too far northwest from low pressures that strengthen within the OV and moving out way. And with cutters...they are probably either just too far west for the goods or on the extreme western cutters for of a mix. Its probably clippers mostly for them?

That's an ugly Euro run...

It's also a fantastic continuity break for a span of time outside of D7 so meh.  But it's attempting a -EPO with zero discernible pattern implications for S of 40 N across the continent.   that'd be a neat trick.

On my way back from Wales this morning, Sabattus Lake was skimmed over, These last several days of temps in the 30's and teens at night has jump started ice buildup.

The washtub had a bit over 1" ice when I dumped it yesterday (before the ice would get thick enough to split the seams, like our last one), though some was gray ice from Sunday's snow.

The old stock pond probably has close to 2" after this morning.

Yeah, I was thinking that run had some CC infused flavor to it. The southeast ridge was pumped up like a Nino December lol
