Do you guys need more than this? What’s wrong with nice .45 of rain?

Nothing wrong with it. Barrier islands did well with the last round of showers, so they’ll be over 0.6-0.7”. LI is either still in a drought or abnormally dry as of this AM so yes, we still need it.

Right now this summer has a shot to be our most pleasant since 2009. The CFS weeklies say the heat will return for the last third of the month so we'll see.

Lower sun angle make it more tolerable but we'll see if it actually arrives for more than a few days.  I'd rather a hot summer than a warm fall honestly.

Yup. No heat in the extended. It’s been beautiful since that cold front back in July

And not only no heat coming, but we're going to continue to see nice airmasses with low humidity at times. After some rain monday night into tuesday, another low humidity airmass comes in mid next week. In the longer range it appears another one will come in next weekend.

80 / 64 and mostly / partly sunny.  Another amazing day on tap and overall decent weekend outside of scattered storms Sat (8/12) evening its looking very nice.  Mid / upper 80s perhaps the hot spots gets to 90 with enough sun.  The next trough moves through later Mon (8/14) - Tue (8/15) with scattered storms.  Beyond there overall warmer with spurts of heat trickled in a day here or there. through Sat (8/19).  Beyond there ridging / heights elevated into the east but caution advised with seasonal tendencies.  Believe we are riding above normal.
