Incredible storm from start to finish..

From tracking this 10+ days out.. to watching all the back and forth in the modeling in this extremely dynamic setup.. to watching the final outcome unfold was the absolute perfect example of why I've been fascinated by weather since I was a young kid.

I easily have 3 and 4 foot drifts in my yard in Patchogue
Had to drive out to Medford to dig out a few family members, whos front door was buried. I'm sure the totals are in the 18-20+ range.

Road conditions were rough, visibility was basically zero, lots of stuck vehicles. Plows were useless with this wind.

Yeah I’m leaning towards about 18-20” in lindenhurst, that final band really pushed us to bust high after it sat over us for a couple of hours

Tiny change and it would’ve been me with 20” in Long Beach-band started off over Nassau and inched east. I had good snow for about a half hour from it. Boom and bust is how these storms work. Wish I could’ve been here for Jan 2016 (was living in TX at the time and didn’t fly up since it was supposed to be a Philly south event) where everyone on LI got the goods.
