That may be wrong too thoughSustained 35 mph with 1/4 mile or less visibility for at least a 3 hr period. .

Moonhowl
The NWS wind forecast for Asheville; certainly strong enough to be concerning:

Don't think we have any trouble reaching a foot when all is said and done. Then the wind gust around 51 miles an hour, We could get zero, but I like that forecast other than the wind gust.
Met1985
Also the GFS is still advertising several events after this with some very strong pushes of cold air. It's been a long time since we've seen it snow and stay cold. A very exciting rest of the month indeed.

WxJordan
Looking at the SkewTs on the NAM3km, it is so close once you get west of 321. Literally we are talking about a layer that is one degree or so above freezing. Always a difficult forecast, but usually that warm nose wins out. Still yet, I think most of the foothills gets a good 4-6 at least from the storm before it changes over late morning. 4

Well that's good news my goal for Valdese is 5 inches anything more then that is a bonus. I will say once the sleet and maybe some ZR get on top that will be around for days.
