This event overperformed, IMO.

yeah it over performed alright, had tons of lightning and heavy rain yesterday...far more than the relatively light amounts the models were showing. great times. :raining::underthewx:

Yes, quite strange to be seeing lots of lightning and hearing thunder......and having temperatures only in the upper 30s, atm.  Why can't it just be cold enough to get some thundersnow going?  Now that would've been a surprise for tonight...

Lightning show at 35 degrees last evening from 6 to 10.  Heavy rain on and off all night. Still raining and 39 degrees. Total since Tuesday afternoon,  Over 4 inches. Total for two weeks, over 8 inches. Total since January 1st,  14 inches.  The creeks are all full. Lake Lure Dam spillway is going full throttle into the Broad River.

Elevated t-storms and the temperature inversion caused lots of loud thunder last night. The sound waves were bouncing around like a pinball machine between cold air at the surface and the warm layer aloft. Up to 40 degrees this morning, lets see if the wedge holds.

There was thunder and lightning basically all night. 7 confirmed lightning strikes in the county. Over 5” since yesterday afternoon. Standing water in most yards. Sigh if only this had been snow LOL.
