November is my least favorite month in general. Once the leaves fall it's boring and gray until winter. This was probably the most damaging SSE to SSW flow event ahead of a deep low and cold front. Long Beach had gusts to 75 mph with numerous trees down along with with shingles blown off roofs and several broken windows from flying debris. The western half of the city was without power for 24 hours. But you're right, we'd all be freaking out.... Well we did get that one big flood cutter late in January 96 that wiped out the snowpack and caused the historic flash flooding. I am glad that I wasn't living near a major interior NE river for that one. But all the streets turned into rivers on my drive home that day here. That was the storm that caused ocean parkway to be blocked with feet of sand and they had to plow to get it off.
