Did Ellicott City get hammered ?

No.  Not a drop of rain.  WE thought we were going to get hit at the pile down here in Silver Spring, but it missed us to the north.

It would be nice if that stuff in VA can make into the metro area. Garden is getting pretty dry. It's hard to water a giant garden like mine. I guess I better get to it.

94 and horrible

High of 94. Dew point hit 81 at one point. Ugh

It's a heartbreaking mess by the explosion. Hot as hell, people frazzled

volunteered my bilingual services and met  the lady whose 3 year old son slipped thru her hands when the floor collapsed

bad as it is 75/55 would have been a lot better than 100/80

Probably 120 in the direct sun heat index tomorrow afternoon

I hate heat, but I like extreme heat. I'll be out in Eastern Shore corn country tomorrow. I hope I get to experience some monster heat index.

It's 89 degrees at 9:15 pm. It's hot out there.

Received several heavy downpours with some thunder. Meh, now it feels like a broken sauna out there. Strange thing about this heat I noticed has been the deep blue sky. You look outside and think low 70's with low dews only to get crushed by heat and water vapor when you walk out the door. Summer's last horrah I hope.

It's been breezy and we simply do not have the brown skies on hot days like we did in the 70's and 80's

pollution  control efforts did work for air and water but the liberal media will only talk about sick polar bears and flooded coastlines

I think it should be noted that a few weeks ago during our last big heat wave, there were signals of another one coming during early August. It was a bit delayed, but certainly not denied. The next few days could be just as impressive in DC as they were during that period.

99 today @ DCA (tied record)

99 forecasted tomorrow

100 forecasted Sunday

From LWX:

Quote
.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
24 and 48-hr temperature trends suggest another deg or two rise
tomorrow which would bring MaxT at DCA to 101F Sat and Sun.
Dewpoint trends not much different from today about the same or a
deg higher. This would bring heat indices at or above 110F in
many places in the Wash and Baltimore metro. Thus, heat warnings
issued. Overnight lows expected to be similar or a deg warmer than
last night keeping temps above 80F in the metros.

Things like to repeat itself on Sun around the metros. Model
trends show a slight cooling of 1 to 3 degs in the nw part of the
area around HGR and MRB. Heat warnings likely to be needed for the
metros Sun, thus a watch has been issued.
