NEVER reveal or turn up your Ace card first........

After 2 follow up emails I got this reply:

Hello, Bill.

I apologize for the delay in responding. Here's what happened:

On Wednesday 6/15 we put in place redirects from www.nws.noaa.gov to www.weather.gov. This was required due to improper and weeks old data being displayed on the www.nws.noaa.gov site. The www.nws.noaa.gov site is not supportable and is in the process of being fully removed from service. Since this was a "break fix" we will be putting out the PNS (a change notice) on this after all the redirects are fully implemented.

Users looking for current watches and warning should be directed to https://alerts.weather.gov.

Users looking for a listing of all NWS text products should be directed to here: http://forecast.weather.gov/product_types.php?site=NWS

Users looking for active WWA Shapefiles should be directed to http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge2/shapefiles/

Users looking for observation history should be directed to http://w1.weather.gov/obhistory/

While this does not provide a 1 for 1 page exchange, this will provide the same date (a little bit more cumbersome to get to) that was available before.

This is a temporary redirect while we work on a the next version of product pages which should be released later this summer.

Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.

Thanks,

--

My 3 1/2-year-old daughter's first dance recital was today. Holy sh*t am I a Proud Papa! I was welling up as the curtains were about to open for her number, and I was beaming the whole time.

She was out there with her four little dance friends in front of hundreds of people and they rocked it. It was awesome!

That is awesome! Amazing how the little ones just go at it like that.

I'm not that type of person, never was good with crowds/public speaking etc.

Thanks, too!

I was concerned that she'd freeze up because she can be a little shy in public but she just went out and did her thing. You're right in that they are able to just go out and not worry about anything - they don't have that fear of looking foolish like some of us do as we get older.

They were absolutely adorable and they got a huge round of applause!

Anyone have any tips on where to go (dock/pier) that'd be an ideal place to introduce crabbing to a kid?

I went for the first 20 years of my life, but that of course was 20 years ago.  I think my son would really get a kick out of it, but don't want to go somewhere crowded and want some "instant gratification" for a catch, even if they're too small.

What is your location?

Try Sandy Point state Park. They have a pretty crabby pier. Definitely try hitting it during the week if possible. There's another in Mayo, MD. If you're on the the Eastern Shore you could try Romancoke pier. Ocean city has North Side Park.

Besides the mentioned in the link, North Point State Park in Edgemere allows crabbing as well.
