Who here thought that the NAM would be right on?

I actually believed it (now Im not gloating, I've had my fair share of being wrong), but the science of the model made sense.

Im the only one of my friends that did mainly cause I love the underdog... and a bit of wishcasting since south shore is usually the snow hole of the universe it seems

Snow is going to be coming down moderately at least through probably 10pm around the city and east, and east of the city accumulating snow may hang on until midnight. Models all show this. Add it up.

Anyone know how reports from DC area are coming through? Hope they are not angry that we stole their show (and thunder). :)

Many of us are at 2' and very few reports of pingers.

I'm IN that death band. Guys. This is incredible. It's a blizzard. That's the only way to describe it. After all the sleepless nights and anxiety I could cry. I'm the happiest man alive. I can't see more than 150 feet away. Heavy heavy snow. Up to 16 " here.

OMG, heaviest snow of the storm right now - and close to the heaviest I've ever seen. 100-yard visibility. Haven't measured since the 9.5" at 8:30 am, but would guess we've added at least 4" since then. Time to head back out..

So, after a quick nap and 4th round of shoveling, as of 1:00 pm we have 14.5" give or take an inch or so.  That would "only" be an average of an inch per hour since my last measurement of 9.5" at 8:30 am.  Having watched the radar pretty closely, we just haven't been under those 30+ dBZ bands for prolonged periods (just for spurts), so we haven't had 2" per hour snows for the most part.  Still thinking we make it to 20-22" if we can just sustain 1" per hour rates for 6-7 more hours.  Have some 3-4 foot drifts and bare spots.
