Jan 23/24 2016 obs/nowcast - the fight for the North

Recommended Posts

Visibility down to about ¼ mile, maybe less now. Snow still sideways but heavier. Flakes are getting larger - and wet. Gusts are impressive! 33/34

The zoomed in BOX radar does show low levels starting to moisten up now finally with returns "closing in" on the radar site from all directions. So probably most of E MA will be snowing within the next 60-90 min...unless maybe Scooter's Sh**streak fights back some.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Time to head to class in Salem, MA :axe:

Eh...I'm still a bit bearish for latitudes near pike and north...but we'll know soon. We'll want to keep saying steady NW progress of the fronto band just entering the Islands and S RI/SE MA.

Is there any place you can get model forecast for that

Snow but missing the big banding south of SWCT and the band that is north in and around Newtown...4inches on the ground or so in Westport.

The band is amazing. It will slowly sink south according to radar. Snowing easily 2 per hour in this band.
