Still not sure if I'm coming down or not....If EURO gives Philly 20" or close Ill stay.

I still feel like this isn't real. Like I'm going to wake up any minute. We just had a record warm December & now your region is about to potentially have its GOAT snowstorm lol like what...We truly are living in the golden age of wx.

Wrt naming the storm... Went back to see where it was first discussed... 1/13 and 1/14 thread. I think highzenberg gave a play by play @168 hours out. Others touched on it then it went away and Ravens94 kept the hope alive until Bob Chill got very excited January Med/Long Range Disco Part 2

Yes...it was showing up and being discussed pretty far out as a possibility.  There were even a couple of great runs in there that really sparked interest.  This past Saturday (Jan. 16), all the models pretty much indicated a major event and were consistent since then.

I was looking back at loops of great nor'easters on Youtube, and this is the most impressive I could find back to '93. Tons of convection. Juiced to the gills.

i was thinking the same.  it's starting to remind me more like a baby 93 at least from the "look".  maybe even a little bit of pd2 as far as the amount of overrunning ahead of it.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but I just wanted to say:

I posted in the storm thread telling all to be safe, and thank you for model breakdown, etc. and that the EURO would wrap things up for us tonight.

Not only does my post get removed for the thread, it gets deleted in its entirety.

I'm sorry but whatever mod did that, you may have to power to do that. But you do not have the right to do that.

My comment (albeit heart felt, sorry) did have some model reference and did further and flow with the discussion. Furthermore, the comment right above mine was talking about reminiscing with another poster about the 2010 storm. That is banter. And that comment was not removed.

So, I just wanted to say as someone who probably understands weather better than the average person and is fairly intelligent and could learn more about weather from this site, I am truly disappointed that I couldn't even get started posting. We're all having a fun night and to be honest that was uncalled for.

Mods: limiting free speech (especially the kind that is coherent and on topic) is wrong. No other way to slice it. It's wrong and counterproductive to the mission of this website and the purpose it serves.
