  1. 1. When will DCA report its first spring thunder?

  2. 2. How many days with severe weather watches in the subforum in 2015?

Quite an impressive 24 hours here. I got 1.68 inches from the system yesterday evening into early morning today. The winds weren't that bad but still somehow managed to take out one of the main branches of the big maple in my front yard.

This evening I got two isolated storms. The first one gave me 0.08 inches, the second (which just passed now) was severe and gave me an additional 0.17 inches. I was the spot over the red 50-55 dbz on LWX's radar so most of that rain happened in a few minutes. Surprised that cell didn't have a tornado warning with it, I've seen them warn for much less threatening looking cells in the past.

My rain gauge was broke on Tuesday but I estimated (based on reports) I got between 1-2 inches of rain- so I've had about 4 inches in 7 days.

Great lightning in that one, winds were mid-storm, a few gusts, but nothing special. Hail core came towards the end in (I'm on the Burke/West Springfield border). Hail was between pea and penny sized, came down furiously before cutting off. Not bad!
