  1. 3+ inches of rain from the storm as it passed through Burke, and going. Not surprised it was just warned for tornado, nasty stuff.
  2. Nothing wild in Burke. Couple of intense gusts, but just a few sticks down in the yard. Plenty of lingering T&L. I've lived here for 17 years, not sure I've ever been in a polygon for up to 80mph before!
  3. 1.27 in Burke out of that first line.
  4. Phenomenal runoff in Pohick Creek in Burke. You can hear it roaring from quite a distance.
  5. I kept looking towards the high tension wires that abut my yard to catch some of the strikes. Pretty wild.
  6. Recorded 2.50 in Burke. Still in a very light rain.
  7. I can step in for Burke. Quality June storm - a bit of small hail, some small sticks down from the winds, and a great light show. Feels like summer now.
  8. Great change of wind directions with swirling leaves everywhere. Not fun when surrounded by giant old trees, but no issues.
  9. Heck of a lightning strike in Burke (towards W. Springfield) a couple of minutes ago. We all jumped in our house. Good stuff. These guys working on a driveway on my court are still outside. I don't get it...
  10. Today's evasive storm maneuvers were a work of art to miss Burke in the way it did...
  11. Watching from my home in Burke now. Still no rain, but winds have really kicked up since the outflow moved through.
  12. Yup, I'm off of Shiplett, maybe a 500 feet north of Old Keene Mill. Wish I had a view of Pohick Creek right now.
  13. My backyard is the border for West Springfield (the big power lines), so eastern Burke I was driving home from Fairfax City this morning hoping to cross Guinea before Long Branch rose... lotta anxiety during that 20 minute drive!
  14. Burke didn't do too bad. Recorded 2.06 from the event in less than hour.
  15. 2.15 from today, in Burke. Backyard nearly had rapids going in the downhill portion. Good stuff.
  16. For those in FFX, there's water running across Guinea between Braeburn and Braddock in two different spots. I was able to drive over it (didn't see it, not a fun surprise). Was worst around the Long Branch stream.
  17. Micro split between two stronger clusters. Our trees are gracious.
  18. Our basement flooded for the first time as well.... unbelievable storm. Can't believe I'm going to have to rip up all of the carpet down there...

  19. I'm guessing all that's between us are the woods between Burke Rd and Shiplett. A friend of mine lives about a block away and is a pro met for NOAA and he simply won't join the board. His specialty is cloud research, so maybe he wouldn't be the most interesting...

  20. Hey - just curious, what are of Burke are you from? I'm a lurker on this board, but live in the area behind Shoppers, by the West Springfield border. Nice reading about other Burke nowcasts.
