WinterWxLuvr
Saw some lighting, got a sprinkle. 0.00" Don't know what the F is up with that radar. I ran the loop and it looks like the storms built south and went over me. Even reds on the radar, yet nothing. *&^%^ing nothing. Weatherbug radar. Is it operating in clean-air mode or something? I feel your pain. Got lucky and had 3/4" up here.
mappy
Lots of lightning off to my west . RAP and hrrr have been consistent in showing some moderate to heavy cells coming thru north central MD / S.PA. Bring it

StudentOfClimatology
I'll take some table scraps and be happy. Currently 65/64. In other news, finally got a new VP2+ w/ fan. Uber expensive but now that I've mounted it on my roof I can get accurate wind readings...finally.

Ian
Not bad for a minimal instability line in almost October. Sprinkles for me but that's the story in prime season.
high risk
fair amount of low rolling thunder now in southern Howard County, likely from the line crossing I-270. an interesting line has developed out ahead of that one and keeps building south - does not appear to have lightning but looks to have very heavy rain. motsco
wth? looking at radar I'm in the yellow, and it's sprinkling!? all my radar maps and apps shows I'm in a downpour but it's barely raining, did something change? in the radar world? mitchnick
been raining hard here for the last 10 minutes (after some light stuff) along with some wimpy lightning thought I heard some small hail too, but probably not
mitchnick
wow, I knew it was raining hard, but .82" in an hour is more than I thought http://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KBWI.html and there should be a little more on top of that
frostbite_falls
Random thunder...one nice close one...and now a pretty strong steady rain. Real soaker, wasn't expecting more than random showers.

I have the Vantage Vue, it gets the job done pretty well. Thanks guys. I thought about it for a bit, but after my old VP2 started spitting out 150 degree readings in the Sun, I just kinda knew...haha. Got to test the anemometer/rain gauge this evening too w/ the new roof mount...got a wind gust to 11mph and a brief 2.65"/hr rainfall rate, which was on par with the surrounding PWS readings. Thinking of buying a 30-50ft telescoping pole so I can mount the anemometer even higher, but in DC I dunno about the legality of that. We'll be moving to the MD 'burbs next summer, sometime after I graduate (probably up near Damascus) so might wait until then to do that.
