Feb 12-13 Obs for "The Storm That Wouldn't Say NO"

Recommended Posts

Light snow still 23/20... heavy band on the doorstep. Very nice fluffy dendrites.   I'd estimate we are closing in on an inch.  1/24th of the way there, if you believe tonight's NAM.

Little flakes falling in Glen Rock,PA. Dusting on the truck.  Just finished putting the chains on and prepping the tractor for plowing.  Time to enjoy the show.

Just made the trip home on west bound 70. Road was covered completely most of the way. The snow as well as the caravan of salt trucks has traffic moving at a snail's pace. Terrible accident on east bound 70 at Route 40. Two completely mangled cars (I can only imagine the condition of the occupants). Light snow and 20* here(Western Howard County). Enjoy the snow (as I will), but be safe out there.

930pm in Dale City 20 miles SSW of DCA - 23 degrees with moderate snow as light green 20 dbZ radar returns have moved overhead. It's a blob not a band. From here on out we will get hit good. I estimate a half inch of snow on all surfaces from light snow thus far - lawns are now reflecting white pretty well and it will get MUCH BETTER FROM HERE!!!!!!!

EDIT: I now have dark green returns overhead - 25 dbZ. I can clearly see snowflakes even without streetlights.  I absolutely WUB this storm!!!

Wooooooooo----Hooooooooooo!!!!

First accident of the night.  Red Top cab bumped into a parked Range Rover right below my balcony.  Just drove off afterwards - don't really blame him.  Hopefully he's heading home.
