  1. As someone who once lived on the actual border between Chevy Chase MD and Chevy Chase DC, I'm pretty sure the Maryland side always got more. [emoji16]
  2. Just would like to thank @stormtrackerfor his wish of doom and destruction and helicoptering surgeons not coming true. My surgery Tuesday was successful and I'm now home and recovering. But what's the deal with this 80 degree crap?
  3. Looks like the Second Thread When Everything Seemed to be Going South maneuver is now 2 for 2.
  4. Just woke up on Capitol Hill, streets and sidewalks are covered. Even my nuclear sidewalk. Looks gorgeous. I can't imagine OPM won't reevaluate.
  5. I will tell you all that I watched about four feet of snow fall in my little spot in Wyoming last winter, but it just wasn't the same without this group of surly malcontents tracking it every step of the way.
  6. ... though it just occurred to me that since I'm having it done at Georgetown, there's no worries about snow anyway.
  7. Hah ha, no worries, and thank you. At this point I'd be Just Fine with dining room table surgery.
  8. Apologies to all, but I am using all available juju to have a warm up so that there is no chance of snow on the 23rd. Surgery I've been waiting for and need desperately is scheduled that day, and I will not have you weenies wishing a storm into existence and messing it up.
  9. There were a lot of delays/ground stoppages yesterday, I think I heard? So maybe fewer engines heating up the air.
  10. Another #neweather veteran (Usenet version) here.
  11. I got wildly spoiled last winter in Wyoming in terms of snow, but that doesn't mean this isn't just plain lovely.
  12. 1/15/24 will be cited for the next decade in all "So you're saying there's a chance" posts.
  13. Looks like the reactor fire has finally been contained.
  14. The Chernobyl Sidewalk continues to fight against caving.
  15. Cobblestone Capitol Hill street starving to slooooowly cave. Brick sidewalks covered. My concrete sidewalk that always seems to have a Chernobyl-like heating system beneath it, is starting to get covered in a few spots.
  16. I think I'm in a different microclimate. I'm right near the SE freeway, about six blocks from the Anacostia. I match DCA most of the time.
  17. Brick sidewalks on the Hill showing the first hints of caving, but other hard surfaces holding strong.
  18. Snow just starting to fall on Capitol Hill. When I was little and we'd look out the window and see new snow on the ground, my mom would always quote Bambi and say, "Look, Mom, what's all that white stuff?" 50+ years later, and I still say it every time.
  19. I'm so old I remember when this thread had people wondering why LWX was suddenly so bullish.
  20. NBC 4 showing the Potomac over its banks in Alexandria.
  21. Winds starting to kick up on Capitol Hill, rain getting heavier, and the streetlights just came on.
