That was a beast of a storm last night at about 11 pm. At one point I got up to check to see if my deck or any tree's were on fire because a strike was so close. Ah, the stupid things you assume when you are woken suddenly by a massive thunderclap.

The hubby said around 11 he could see what looked like strobe lights going off to our north, the line went from York to past Frederick. I think it hit us around 1230 or so, but it didn't wake me up.

You know it

SPC didn't even have a See Text in ANY part of the region yesterday, save for a small 5% wind risk in S VA in the 20z update. So much fail.

I could go for some more storms, but I have softball so I can also live without them this afternoon.

Guess MBY got skunked last night...I drove from Columbia up to Bel Air around 4:30pm and torrential rain started about 1mi south of my house along I-95. Was in and out of storms the whole time and then a downpour in Bel Air around 6pm.

Looking forward to another round today, but we need to turn it off tomorrow! My brother-in-law is getting married...outside...with no tent...at 7pm tomorrow :yikes:

I wasn't in town but radar looks like SW Frederick missed most of the action. Really isn't a surprise anymore!

Can't complain about the timing. New NAM looks like 19 or 20z with the line.

Although - with severe around here 9 out of 10 times what can go wrong, will go wrong. I guess we'll see how it plays out. In the meantime, I hope we can manage some good storms today - I got hail at my house for the first in what feels like forever with the storms yesterday. Was quite a sight.

Lapse rates dont do it for me

Might have some muck in front.

Would like more than filtered sunshine today. Missed out on the good stuff yesterday.

LWX discoo seems to be mentioning good potential for large hail... even said very large hail, but that might be precluded by slight moisture increase in upper levels... I might put my car in the garage this afternoon just in case

my secret parameters are indicating a 20% chance of grapefruit sized hail.
