  11. I have a question: If this record Nino goes very very very very very far east-based, does this mean places far west like Texas will end up missing out of some or most of the rain? Someone in an earlier post stated the Nino will be extremely far east-based, and the convection will follow it OUCH! That, does not sound very good for all of us DRY PARCHED TEXANS. Man that would be a massive BUMMER. Because I crave floods Floods FLOODS FLOODS!!!!
  12. Correction to the above. Here is revised ACE list top 20. Got it from this site: https://global-tropical-cyclones.com/ All sort of neat global TC stats here. Allow one to quantify all basin season-to-date well along the historical info. Also this site is great as well. https://tropical.atmos.colostate.edu/Realtime/||

  15. I found out about 1911's insanity a number of years ago when I saw just like what you mentioned out of this world temps in late spring here, IIRC much of May that year was a torchageddon of intense heatwaves. There were multi-day values over 95F along the shoreline in ON and I have no clue how all that came together. We were nearly at 100F before the mid part of May. As for the rest of the season it was an inferno just endless heatwaves til mid-late Sept. I got pretty excited when on here the late Roger Smith mentioned 1911 as an analogue to summer 2012!
  16. Dolphin appears to be entering a new phase of intensification. Dual CBs are currently rotating around the core. Tops are getting colder with a notable HT. The core looks overall healthier than the past few days. Again, the gradient may still be too spread out to actually make another run at Super Typhoon status, but clearly, some intensification is underway as ADT numbers are back on the increase.
  17. Largely a function of can we get the cold air and in the flops it stayed central pa and north
  18. And 50 years ago they were issued far more often than they were 100 years ago. We have access to much better data now.
  19. Ended up getting .65 today from the rain showers. One was extremely heavy.
  20. Wow I didn't realize Denver is actually lower than Fort Collins - usually it's wetter. It doesn't really matter though, it's just dry everywhere. We have friends in Wyoming and its super dry there too. It seems we ought to be able to get enough the rest of this year do not break our record, but you have to factor in that average precip for the remaining months of the year get less and less...'
  21. ^That's probably why the GLAAM goes so positive.
  22. they can present lots of information efficiently
  23. This is why region 1+2 is an inferno (+4C) besides the WWBs and DWKWs…the South Pacific High (Anticyclone) has totally collapsed Also, region 3 has gone up an entire degree (up to over +3C) in one month. Crazy
  24. Beautiful night. 73/64 and a breeze
