  1. Past hour
  2. Not the first time I have been called brilliant!! Thanks again Bdgwx!!
  3. Definitely something to keep an eye out for. Looks like widespread lofted smoke for much of the Midwest spreading in over the next 48 hours, with air quality concerns [near surface smoke] in northern parts of Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. I wonder if this will mute the expected warmup somewhat.
  4. Not bad. Up to 1.60" over here on the other side of the bay. The heavy steady rain is over. Still a heavy drizzle and mist.
  5. Oh...got it...so the requirement is that you must prove it is wrong. That is convenient because even the most trivial analysis would prove some level of wrongness, but if you don't even make the attempt then you can always claim that you never proved it to be wrong. Brilliant!!
  6. Boy, that sucks for them. Oh, wait, I live west and north don't I.
  7. 1.15" Almost all of that fell since 5am. Looks like lighter/more showery rain for the rest of the afternoon.
  8. same here but a bit dimmer and more clouds but can still make it out
  9. This rain is taking forever to get here.
  10. I may have gotten the atmosphere's attention with my complaint... Friday is at least worth a look. We will have a deepening surface low track just to our north which is often a good setup. The instability might end up being too weak, but the HiResW FV3 gets my attention.
  11. ..we can arrange that!!..just say the word!
  12. This isn't an airplane version of gilligan's island
  13. ..until you realize you are on some unknown and uncharted island...
  14. Of course not at all Charlie. The data is clearly materially and statistically close enough to all other available county data to validate the raw data as is. Any well after the fact adjustments and alterations are not fact or evidenced based.
  15. there was a proposal for one from NYC to BOS but space is an issue and the existing line has too many turns/curves
  16. I wouldn't count on it. He must have gone to the Wolfie school of meteorology.
  17. That’s a good point, I think. Maybe to add to that, I’m not sure what farmers in Central Illinois are doing but there have been about four springtime “dust storms” over the last decade due to wind picking dirt while farmers are out in the field. And they’ve caused major problems for drivers on the interstates.
