Rolling along in SE DC Sneet/ graupel/ icedust/ whatever the heck it is steady. 20/18DP The poor fools who shoveled earlier aren't happy...their steps are covered again. Weird...the stuff accumulates on top of cars but falls off the sides. Deep tire tracks on street. No plows.

Can't believe how cold it still is. 13F Fully sleeting now after nearly 9" of snow but sleet accumulates too and it's gonna turn the snow blanket into a glacier.
-
Considering it's almost a week out, and this past storm was at this range burying Norfolk, I hold hope.
-
Great for snow totals if true .
-
21.9, light sleet

All I can think about is how long this is gonna stick around I remember the March 2017 or 2018 storm where we got a couple inches of snow with a healthy inch or two of sleet on top. That pack somehow survived multiple days of March sun angle and there was still ice on side roads three days after

Historic Tennessee Valley Cold, Snow, and Ice Events

Received 15 inches from that Blizzard. 4-6' Drifts. Heavy Rain turned to Heavy Snow around 1:30 AM the 13th with sustained 30-45 MPH Winds. The Snow ended by 8 AM. I measured 2.5 inches of Rain in the Gauge before the changeover. I wish I'd stayed up and watched that Snow fall. The rates had to of been 2-4 inches per Hour for a period to accumulate to so much on a waterlogged ground in such a short period of Time. The Temperature fell into the mid 20's that Morning.- 133 replies

I assume we'll reach a foot with this. -
This is what I was trying to say yesterday. Sleet bombs, true ones, are RARE here and fun as heck. wait til you see people try to drive over the little bumps thinking it works the same as snow. we are gonna be locked in way more than people realize after this

Getting quite breezy off and on.

Maybe we can book-end storms. Then call it a winter. I would be ok with this and an early spring. Winter has been ok in my book. Zero complaints thus far. -

So, no chance of this being sleet like early this morning? I have zero glaze at the moment. The temp will probably stick at 25 degrees when this arrives. -
