  2. Matching all the summers since 2012 the extent falls significantly behind 2012 during the 1st week of August. Much lower pressures this summer than even the 2013-2025 lower means has resulted in the Jaxa extent falling into 12th place behind 2012. Plus we didn’t get the early season preconditioning. But since most of the older MYI has melted over the years, the volume is still very low.
  3. We have had quite a wet start to August with most spots seeing between 1.8" to around 3 inches of rain over the last 5 days. Some additional shower chances are possible later today and again on Friday night. We should finally dry out by Sunday. Early next week it starts hot with a chance for some of our valley locations to possibly reach 90 degrees both Monday and Tuesday. Could those be the last chances of a 90-degree reading till next spring?

  5. Turns out it just skimmed my. Probably Bridgewater got it pretty good and points just north of me. .24" on the day
  6. Low level clouds burning off under some high cirrus. Then a quick jump up to upper 80s / low 90s
  7. $ 1 needed to read that article -lol
  8. 23 out of the last 26 months in NJ takes time to resolve. https://www.northjersey.com/story/weather/2026/07/30/nj-drought-warning-remains-after-severe-july-storms-heres-why/91091896007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&gca-uir=false&gca-epti=z115227p116850n00----l003450c00----e1117xxv115227&gca-ft=71&gca-ds=sophi
  9. Very humid out this morning. Currently at 9 am it is 84/80, feels like 96.
  10. Euro and EuroAI ensembles both hinting at some development towards the end of next week with the next wave moving off Africa. Conditions will be very hostile in the Caribbean, as one would expect in a Nino year. Should a brief TS develop, it won't last past the Lesser Antilles. Not much going for the Atlantic.
  11. Usually you can by then.. sun gets higher cars feel warmer getting in them..
  12. I think everyone’s excepted that this winter is lost and will likely be very mild. That will probably make it more enjoyable, the few small snow events we get
  13. May have to turn the page on 1/12 this winter
  14. Ok so when it's February 12th we're turning the page, moving on
  15. Middle to end of next week then its time for you folks to turn the page
  16. exactly what data do they use to determine drought conditions and severity ? I have doubts as to whether some areas in NJ are still in a severe drought after the heavy rain totals the last month
  17. Gotta wonder if we make the CSU 50 ACE points that are forecast. I'll take the under. Shear is nuts as we hear into the peak of the season. I think close in development is our best shot at something interesting. Not happening over the next 10 days though. Caribbean looks to be shut down for the duration with El-Nino induced shear at full tilt.
  18. Not a cloud in the sky and thick
  19. Expecting a few more shortwaves to move through the upper-level flow as well as a trailing cold front early next week, bringing additional chances for showers to southern New England Monday night into Tuesday. The FROPA could bring a small amount of relief from the heat for the start of the next work week, but humidity levels likely will remain elevated through mid-week. remember they said big cool down coming next week
  20. Same two locations. S coast and WNE. Maybe I’ll hear some distant banging
  21. Northern areas closer to the heaviest rains around SW CT like BDR this summer have moved out of drought conditions. But the drought continues further south. Though there was also some slow improvement in NJ also. THE BRIDGEPORT CT CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR AUGUST 5 2026... VALID TODAY AS OF 0400 PM LOCAL TIME.
