  1. Past hour
  2. 0.06" overnight. October has had measurable rain on 5 of the 12 days, for a grand total of 0.14". GYX thinking about an inch by Wednesday noon. Hope that verifies.
  3. Definitely counted wrong yesterday morning, but ended up around half an inch maybe just under. Nice to see some sun though!
  4. Despite my yard, there are some nice colors popping around the area.

  6. 3.51" for the event in Mount Airy (about half way between 70 and 26).
  7. Why the hell can it never be like this on a damn Sunday??
  8. Ended up with 2.12" yesterday (one of my nephews who lives in Upper Darby had a birthday party so I drove to and from there through various intensities of that rain) and had 0.03" from the thundershower that came through here this morning between 2:30 am - 3:30 am, making for a 2-day total of 2.15". Got up to 62 with a 57 low yesterday so wasn't really "raw" but was pretty much an all day soaking. Low this morning was 54 and it's currently a mostly sunny 69 with dp 62.
  9. I think you're generally reinforcing my point, which is that this thing is much harder than most people thought it would be, and we're making less progress than people thought we would even given the increase in the use of renewables that we've seen. You say "Renewables only began to move the needle in this decade.", but there is no "this decade" in that chart - there is only "this year", which happens to be an extreme outlier w/El Nino, showing anything other than the same trend upward. I think that's likely the main factor, and not primarily due to energy policy. Only time will tell though, in the years ahead. If it's truly due to energy policy then we should see a continued bending-down of the curve. My additional assertion would be - this is also turning out to be more economically disruptive than anticipated; vis a vis the increases we've seen in electricity prices, and the resulting economic headwinds that have been experienced, in particular by countries that have had more aggressive renewable policies.
  10. Would not be surprised to see multiple inches of accumulating snow for ski areas on Saturday and maybe even grassy accumulation accumulations lower elevations of NNE. Wonder if the Tug hill could pull off several-plus inches
  11. I'm still a little skeptical, but I'm buying a little more stock in snow this weekend. The signal for at least first flakes is across guidance, and now we're starting to see guidance show the potential for minor accumulation. SLK averages first measurable on Oct 23, so this would be timely.
  12. 3.56” total for the event, good soaking
  13. I am with you on the optimism. I am also growing more optimistic on seeing the season's first snowflakes up here at my location, given the pretty sharp downward trend in temp guidance. I'm not expecting any accumulation though.
  14. Today
  15. 2.48" rain fell from 8:20 am - 9:30 pm imby yesterday in North Haldeon, NJ
  16. Hopefully of sign of winter storms this year.
  17. I dunno, I have a better feeling about this one. Definitely a different set up than most in recent months. Latest GFS and Euro both actually upped the totals.

  19. Man, that was rough. To add salt to the wound, the following offseason, the Dolphins passed up on Drew Brees and signed a washed Daunte Culpepper. The butterfly effect of this is that Saban left the Dolphins to join the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he created a dynasty.
  20. Strong ridging builds east after the 2 day chilly weather this coming weekend in the 10/19 - 10/26 period. Brunt of the warmth into the GL/Midwest.
  21. I'll be honest, the traffic never bothered me. It's like 4-6 days out of 365... foliage is the worst like what we just went through, but you know when its coming and can navigate it. I generally find those things overblown but people lose their minds with social media photos and stuff of peak events. Whatever, its the price you pay for living where everyone wants to visit. For us, it really was the characteristics of the town and where we were changed over time. I don't want to go on an AirBnB rant, I've used them and they serve a great purpose. I'm also not someone who wants to tell someone what they can and can't do with their property. However, we used to have a bit more of a community in the area. Local families lived in our townhome area, we had local young professionals (we lived next to a couple Inntopia developers for up to a decade, F/B Director at Trapps, etc), there were people living nearby, dogs, kids and it felt different. Now, we've seen most of them leave and units turned into straight AirBnB rentals with new folks every weekend. Strangers wandering around, usually respectful, sometimes not, but it's just different. It was like living in the middle of a hotel operation. Cleaning crews rolling in around 11am after folks checkout of neighboring units. The vibe changed drastically over the past decade from one of like community to just living in the middle of vacationers. Units used to be owned by people, now the HOA even just has units with LLCs listed as contacts and it's like, what are we doing? I loved the location, the Rec Path, the river, but as getting older, we stopped going out so being walking distance to like Piecasso became less important. Going to the bars with friends and walking home was fun a 12 years ago, ha. But overall, it was more just having strangers around all the time, people on our porch looking in because they are lost and forgot where they rented for the night, just things that come up when living in the middle of one of the biggest AirBnB battles in the state of Vermont that's raging between the town Selectboard and residents right now.
