Well I am watching all the pixie dust at Mammoth and thinking about how Lucy nudged the track of the PacNW Low just enough to leave poor Mammoth with only a couple of inches. We still got the rest of the winter. I just hope the winter does NOT remember October, though. Because if it does, Mammoth will be very GRAY this low sun season. People will be smashing up their skis on rocks and stuff in catastrophic low tide conditions in the slushy muddy snow. I am sick with disappointment and howling with despair. I know its a nina winter and there will likely be meager snow everywhere except Boston. Man I might already need to be reaped lmao! Imagine that, y'all. Jebman the very FIRST to get REAPED in the 2025-2026 Snow Season. In frackin' October! Mammoth was supposed to get 2 feet of snow but ended up with flurries! I feel nothing but black unrelenting despair. I think the Reaper is going to have to don his Garment of Reaping and enter our accursed Realm soon, very soon. I am facing up to the TRUTH this year. Mammoth gets 2 feet all winter and DCA gets 2 inches. I am howling with despair already and I am damn ready to jump. I'm gonna take the window cleaners with me and make sure the entire movable feast hits the damn train below which will derail it all in a fiery hellish climax, including a hidden thermonuclear bomb which takes out about 985 trillion square miles. I am usually the guy with all the optimism but I haven't seen him in a while. He's gone and my new name is Ji. I might end up going all Ji on y'allz. You know when the Jebman gets reaped in October for crise sake, this is gonnabe one of the worst skunk winters in history. Of course Boston will have a record winter with over a thousand inches of snow which will shut BOS down for two months. We gotta start a 2025-2026 Reaper's List and I am in the 1st Slot, for despairo over almost no snow in the Sierra Oct 13-14. Its going to be such a piss poor winter, that this is exactly how I feel now.......

The return of the elusive Nor'easter. Drought buster or bust?

Boston out to 128 about 2-2.25. BOS something like 2.2 I think. Definitely some good rains and the dry pattern seems to have changed based on guidance.

Well above average temperatures continue. It was 79 today and looks to be in the 80s until Thursday or Friday with a brief cool down before going back to 80 next week. Still no real frost threats in sight. Could be close Oct 26-31. Average date for first frost in most foothills areas is around October 15-20th.

2025-2026 Fall/Winter Mountain Thread

We've had a nice stretch of amazing weather the last several days. Another cool front arrives Wednesday providing additional pleasant cool temperatures with a stronger shot of cool air and perhaps a shower or two this weekend. The fronts are becoming more frequent and progressive. The days are getting shorter and winter will be here before we know it! -
Still in the firehose coming off the ocean here in Brick. This has got to be one of the longest duration rain events I can remember. A spotter nearby recorded 3.10in so far.

I know it hasnt been much for most of you, but this has been a decent storm down by the beach. Very strong winds last night, whistling through windows, etc, definitely a few gusts at or over 50. Not the best for sleeping. Lots of reports of flooding in the usual areas locally. Maybe not as bad as it could have been, but this counts as a solid nor Easter for us.
