Pittsburgh Area Fall 2026

Looks like the GFS is in scenario 2s camp: The big question then becomes what will happen with a late-week system, of which, ensembles are still highly uncertain. The main driver of uncertainty is the timing and placement of a digging eastern tough. In scenario 1, the trough digs east of the area sometime Thursday thru Saturday. In this scenario, the area would be warmer than ensemble means and less unsettled. In scenario 2, the trough barrels down directly into the area with a strong cold front (favored Friday into Saturday) and potentially bring some rain, winds (approaching advisory criteria, at minimum), and even lake- enhanced snow/rain shower potential into Saturday. In scenario 3, the trough may drop to into the Midwest sometime Friday/Saturday with rain ahead of it, and bring a longer period of cool and windy conditions as the upper low struggles to rejoin the flow into next weekend. If truly maximized, scenario 2 would be the most impactful due to wind gusts risks and lake effect snow potential (2-10% probability for locations to see >= 3" of snow). -
Ha! There’s a pot of beef stew on the stovetop here.

Just passed 3".

A disappointing, but not unexpected, 0.33 for the event. Now a warm week ahead with the possibility of a nice cool down at the end of the week.
-
If i wasnt braising short ribs i probably would have started a small fire too…but the oven and stovetop going all day was enough lol
-
Haven't gone out to do a close inspection of the rain gauge but so far it's somewhere between 1" and 2". It's very still and gross out, the tree frogs seem to be confused about what time of year it is.

If the Flyer get embarrassed again tonight, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a coaching change tomorrow.

Pouring again..

3.08 Heaviest 24 hr rainfall here since probably that tropical deluge September 2024

2.66". Rain has stopped for now. -
I just crossed the 2 inch mark in Marysville. 2.02 with rain continuing currently.
-
Got this near Morrisville (Had to dehaze in post to really see it due to it being rainwrapped. After there was some tree debris on I-40 between 283 and 284
-
DT rising a bit now to 63 here
-
Kinda meh here so far, but I don't really care as the drought has been busted and growing season is nearly over. 0.67" An inch would be fine. Don't need 3" lol.

Anatomically and sometimes figuratively correct DIT but I believe his first name is Dave. As always …..

Same. As soon as Elliott (was worried he'd shank it) hit the FG, I was pumped and ready to do a couple productive things but nnnoooo. Now I'm a depressed sack just hoping the Giants lose so the NFC East can be pathetic and the Birds still have hope. But my God, they can't score in the 2nd half of games and like pulling teeth to get a 1st down. Phils, ousted in WC round. Bunch of long term aging players w/no trade clauses Birds, injuries, O-line and just look lost Flyers 0-6, outscored 24-7 Sixers?
