Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
weathafella replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
I actually would love to see a big benchmark track in mid winter with wind and rain everywhere in New England. The head explosions would be worth the price of admission. I don’t consider a mean person but I do have an evil bone at times…. -
He missed almost a month and they didn't send him on a rehab assignment. Kinda stupid after missing that much time

This cell to my west is putting on one of the most incredible nighttime light displays I’ve ever seen .

Picked up another .15” this evening. -
The evening storm put down a quick .30". By far, the heaviest rain I've seen in months. .55" total for the day, which is also the most in a day in months. That's how awful this summer has been.

Couldn’t pull up the TDWRs, rotation was broad out of KDOX. That storm produced no wind at the surface, my max wind gust was 5mph for the same storm.

Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
Typhoon Tip replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
Northern New England really is the last hold out for unrealized climate change… For down here… even though we’re getting short changed we are still acclimated enough to think 44 feels like winter -

I switched to the TDCA radar on GR2Analyst, but certain products aren't available with the terminal radars. Clearly there was quite a bit of rotation, but it has weakened.- 1,986 replies

Interesting same years appear on these lists 1988, 1993, 2010 and 2022. I would put 1993 and 2010 above all the rest region wide. Tony do you have a list for highest number of 80 and 85 degree highs too for the three airports and the park too?

Yeah, KLWX last frame on Radarscope was 8:25 pm so using KDOX now. Waldorf/La Plata cell looks good if radar is accurate. Edit: severe thread says LWX is down and troubleshooting, so use Dover

KLWX is out, they're troubleshooting. But there are the TDWR's around. The Tornado warning was dumb IMHO.- 1,986 replies

To be fair those cold summers were godawful too. I particularly remember the Pinatubo summer of 1992. I was in the Poconos that summer too and it was in the 40s here in late June and raining all the time. I remember 1996 differently since I was on Long Island most of that summer it was extremely humid even though not hot and that made it much worse than if it were hot and less humid. I actually remember blacking out one day in June 1996 when it was overcast 82 degrees with a dew point of 82 100% humidity. My most hated kind of weather.

Looks like KLWX is offline? I keep hearing thunder but I don't know where it's coming from, maybe if that cell over Charles co holds together we can eek out something.

Registered 2000 lightening strikes within 25 miles of the house here in the last 45 minutes. This storm is certainly electric!
