  1. Past hour
  2. Flash flooding. HQ in norwalk getting water into our offices but I WFH.
  3. Mid 50s with winds gusting upwards of 30 mph at times with some lake/terrain, enhanced showers. Refreshing after the heat and smoke.
  4. History says this is a big problem when unseasonably strong July cold front whips into a tropically enhanced air mass . Temps don’t need to be 90 as 80+ will more than do it
  5. I agree with that, especially forecasting-wise. But I was more referring to it in past tense. Everytime anyone brings up this past winter's cold, like clockwork, the post gets dissected by the same few discussing warmth in the west/CONUS/globe etc. It really seems that a few of the warmistas have that chip on their shoulder. You should be able to use the words cold/snow WITHOUT prefacing "yes i know the worlds getting warmer" every single time. I was a weather observer before I had the internet, and I knew my local climate data history before I know how to read a single model map. Ive always thought it was cool to look into trends of local weather, and living in a place with extreme seasons, it's neat to see subtle trends that dominated decades past and how theyve changed for the better or the worse. I dont care if last winter was an inferno in the entire world, I will remember what happened here, and here it was a cold, white winter. Glittery snow for months straight gets an A+ for scenery/feels, but there is zero doubt in mind that the cold pattern that dominated the region was PROHIBITIVE to heavier snowfall here. So yes, Im saying if I wanted more snow in last years pattern, I actually needed it warmer. And of course the same rings true for the opposite. If its a colder CONUS winter, it wont mean a damn to me if I get a mild winter.
  6. 85 /75 some sun and clouds. Loading up ahead of the storms or just staying mainly north - tbs
  7. All of the parameters are solid across eastern PA right now and will probably keep improving through the afternoon. But, just like Saturday, there just seems to be too much going on. Will see if that activity in western PA is able to tap into the favorable environment in eastern PA or not, the cloud coverage is really suppressing low level lapse rates rn. Which is ironic because mid level lapse rates, which are usually paltry, are great.
  8. can you loop that ..? if you ever want an analysis/proof of authenticity, that would be more useful than a still frame
  9. Island Beach SP closed on Saturday due to "nearby thunderstorms" when the nearest lightning strike was 55 miles to the north and any threatening rain was still west of Baltimore.
  10. Yeah, 10" of rain 30 minute run-off time to Long Island shore ... pretty bad
  11. Insane rainfall rates here. No wind but alot of thunder and lightning
  12. I have good news. We'll be adding a station in Sparta in the coming months!
  13. Yeah, it has really sucked. Rain keeps developing just W of me, then dissipating as it gets close. Happened 4 times yesterday before it finally rained around 1AM. The good thing is I've only cut the grass 3 times this year.
  14. Yes just hope it doesn’t back build or train, Trumbull area might get some training.
  15. That's every year. I love severe weather but it's a bit more spontaneous and doesn't create the hype and discussion that a potential snowstorm does. Today was pretty over hyped for something that didn't even warrant a watch.
