Brian D
Well, I looked at my modelling method, and it looks like the first half of June will be plagued by CAN HP. In fact, off n on all summer we will be dealing with this scenario. Remember how chilly it got in late Aug of last year? Well I'm expecting the same thing this year with another strong Fall shot after Labor Day. But no worries, there will be some nice, and very warm, stormy conditions in the mix. Between that and the ridge to the N causing fire weather up in Canada, wouldn't be surprised if we June 2023, again. 1

Then we had them in effect for something like 3 weeks straight.

Plenty of dudes out there with their lawn tractors loving cutting lines in their lawn like it's a baseball field. I own a native plant nursery and probably 70% of my customers are women. Apologies on the OT. Boring af weather wise right now (and in the future apparently).

I'd plant wild flowers/shrubs too, and keep part lawn. Women love manicured lawns with beautiful gardens in the mix. As a landscaper for a few years, they really love to go wild with plants at cabins. Did a lot of work at sites like that. But in town, it's a little different. That's my experience. The birds love the well kept lawn. Out here in the sticks if you have an overgrown landscape you will have all kinds of creatures trying to get into your home. I did plant plenty of native trees all throughout the yard.

roardog
There’s been plenty of rain the last few years to keep the lawn mostly green but it’s not like it’s that unusual historically for a lawn around here to turn yellow and dry in the summer. This isn’t Scotland. lol

But in town, it's a little different. That's my experience. Well it's just me the dog, couple of goats (natures brush control) and a Donkey out here. I've also got over 30 of 8 species of native deciduous tree's from around 25 years old and up. Half are over 100. I have an Oak and a Rock Maple that are over 200 years old. 15 Conifers spread round a few over 100 ft tall. I have a friend that worked for the forest service as an arborist and land reclamation and he gave me a bag of native flower and plant seeds. I spread them like they do, just toss the stuff around lol and let them go lol. I did use an old plow and dug up a lot of the brush 15 years ago to give the natives a start against invasive species. I still take out invaders when I see them, I'm probably 75% native in the brush, wild grass and wooded areas. Ain't no manicuring here. I worked on golf courses mowing when I was in college. I phreaking hate grass and lawns 2
