Cold RA with 0.1" IP mixed in, currently (10 AM) very light RA and low 30s.

It also isn't a good look when there is an active NE wind down in NJ, still, approaching mid morning.   

I'm perfectly willing to go with the bust today if need be.  Haven't been completely sold on the whiplash. But should it turn around enough to fairly transform this rectal plaque into a nice description,   hell...stranger things have happened I guess.  

Edit, recent check and the wind field has finally this hour gone variable between BOS-PHL so perhaps en masse mixing event is readying itself.  We'll see.

The NAM guidance which is usually the most bearish —and correct—on setups like this continues to show sky clearing 18z. It’s not going to be everywhere but do think it materializes imby.

I noticed that Box stealthily removed mention of it "becoming M Sunny", and now simply describes the day as "M Cloudy".

Thunderstorms and southwest winds before 18z on April 3 don’t fit the mold of sunrise to sunset mank. 
 

Clearing starts solidy once these t-showed roll through.

 

Can see the sky clearing in Albany and southern VT with the drying air mixing in.

That’s SW downslope off the Catskills.

But yeah it will slowly improve SW to NE. But I think we’re skunked most of the day. Maybe SW flow off the Monads will work in our favor.

Even if we get some breaks of sun I don't think we are going to see any sufficient mixing. Forecast soundings (both NAM/GFS) are overly enthused with mixing potential. Obviously if we are able to break and mix (maybe happens locally) temperatures will jump quickly.

That's what I'm thinking, too...   Mixing is needed and some backside dvm from elevated cv in that band might do it

Not to be difficult but on April 3 ... high-ish late summer sun equivalency, should it break through ( and it looks on vis loop like it's peeling off like Pope was suggesting ) is going to save the day in my mind.

50 with hot sun... fine.   Wind should remain light.   Very napey

I mean yeah…it’s going to clear west to east. Seems to being working out as progged. There’s still low level crud CRV-east that needs to be eroded below the mid level clearing.
