Not sure if it’s a sign of anything but seeing snow mixed in now here in the UWS

Exactly. People forget. This was talked about as a snowpocalypse for days. NWS was 15"+ for most of the area until really close in. I really hope the tail end of this overperforms. But so far great call by you!

Just measured 11". Temp falling, down to +5.9F moderate snow.

It’s still not 100% sleet here. Definitely mangled flakes in there at times

Visibility reducing here and needly type flakes mixing in with the sleet.

I just checked the 6z model runs. For NYC by 21z the NAM had about 0.87" liquid and the RGEM had 0.93". Almost the same. People are just getting fooled by the Pivotal clown map algorithm. Clown maps are really bad for the weather industry. They skew the data and lead to rampant misinterpretation. 

Please stop. So I guess it's all pivotal's fault that the nam is being decommissioned. The models are all on the same playing field.

Yeah I went from super fine snow to like tiny ice shards that came down hard and continued to accumulate. Little more aggressive than graupel I’ve seen in the past, hard to articulate. But this was a fun event and seemed to do very well by me, but less from me to the actual shore / coast.

Sleet briefly made it to Rockland and will probably mix in pretty far north as the dryslot approaches. The CMC and UK showed several runs where the mix line stayed south of the metro entirely. Even this afternoon's runs may not have mixed at all. Terrible!

Interesting yeah, my parents had 5-6inches in SSP when I got there around 11ish. Must have been more of a lull by you? It can be spotty in this area for sure.

Seeing some flakes mixing back in on Roosevelt Island, but still mainly mod/heavy sleet.  Eyeballing about 10 inches here.

Stop complaining.  Its a beautiful storm. We haven't had this much snow in years and especially with temps in the teens.
