It isn't necessarily whether the NAM is correct, it is that we'd hope to be narrowing the goalposts by this period.  I wanted to see the NAM come back to the fold, not double down.

Remember the days when we would get NAMed and hugged like crazy? Now we’re hoping it’s wrong haha

Our little baby boy was born last night! Now I gotta figure out how we get home. They're talking about a 10am discharge time tomorrow, depending on what the storm does. But it also sounds like they have some apprehension about sending a new baby into the middle of a snowstorm, so it may just mean an extra day at the hospital for us.

Anyone love driving in the snow feel like breaking us outta here tomorrow? :scooter:

PA thread checking-in

1) Congratulations!

2) My son was born in February and his mom had to be readmitted for infection a few days later. They discharged her during a snow storm (State College) and I had to take a week-old out in the snow on roads that were not at all ideal in a Hyundai Elantra. I had never known nervousness up until that point. I understand your concern more than you know lol.

Make them keep you. And then raid the vending machines.

I'm going to be watching closely for the flip to ice so I can leave a little snow on the driveway under the ice so I can scrape it off later.  If ice glaze gets on bare driveway with the temps coming up, forget it!

Yeah that’s our plan too. Shovel in the AM, let more snow fall, then ice

If I spent so many hours this past week in here instead of touching grass just for the NAMs output to be correct, idk if I will ever recover

This is just preparation for the miller B on Thursday.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone! I'll be keeping a close eye on the thumpiness of the thump. And at least I'll have good reason to be up at 4am when it's piling up quick. Also pretty sure my two older boys at home are more hyped about the storm than about meeting their new brother haha.

@WmsptWx that is quite the story! Guessing that was the best driving you've done in your entire life.

Everyone gives the NAM a hard time. I've always respected it big time. It might not show what we like sometimes but that not it's fault. The gfs imo should be retired. It's just causes confusion. I set my expectations way back yesterday and I feel great about the storm. I just want my grass covered at this point and it's a win. Icy trees would be awesome too.

Ready for it to snow. This was a tough week of tracking. Sucks that we couldn’t maximize what was on the table, but hopefully we come out with something that sticks around for 2 weeks.

My guesses (snow/sleet):

DCA: 5.2”

IAD: 5.8”

BWI: 5.7”

mby: 6.2” (4.5” snow)

I feel like the max south of the M/D line will be relatively low - something like 9”.

In the scenario...once again I fail to hit the 6" mark, and the 10 year drought continues. Man I'm this close to moving on to next year's nino. If we have anything to track for next weekend I will, but otherwise? Screw ninas.

I swear reading the models thread you would think it's going to be 40 and raining all day tomorrow. I get it, we aren't getting a foot of snow, but damn people.

Bruh...10 years without a 6" snowstorm. A very low bar. And now that drought is looking to continue based on trends...so yeah.

We Baltimorians have every right to be cantankerous more than anybody else in this sub. We have had it the absolute worst--never in our history have we gone 10 years without recording 6" or more. (BWI doesn't count btw as both times more fell there than in the city itself).

Not to mention that we have to live in Baltimore!
