mattie g
I was so prepared for the potential of power going out with this storm. I ran the generator yesterday (after draining the carburetor and cleaning it out), gassed it up with plenty of extra gas at the ready, and had it all staged and ready to go. I had all batteries and wireless chargers charged up, plans in place for keeping as warm as possible for a few days, etc. In the grand scheme of things, I'm really glad I didn't need to put any of that plan into action, but it *is* a little bit of a bummer that I couldn't at least have seen some of that that hard prep work put to good use! With progged wind gusts to 30 mph most of the day tomorrow, there's a non-zero chance of losing power. Would've been a lot more dicey with larger ZR accretions from this storm, but certain areas around here lose power when someone sneezes.

Went out with the dog a little bit ago and my street was a solid pack of 1.5-2” of sleet. The secondary roads were supposedly worked over pretty good, but as of about 4:00 pm the one nearest me was still in pretty bad shape.

They came in several times during the storm. Some areas you can see pavement but it is mostly snow packed down. As of the rest of the neighborhood have no idea. Being single family homes it is County maintained. Mr.J works from home on Mondays so we have not checked the status of roads. Will have to though as he drives a MX 5. He may just be taking my EV6 to work tomorrow if the neighborhood is packed down snow. We got the AWD dual motor and it has a snow mode vs his RWD manual. MN Transplant
My pro-tip from this morning is to pull out the garden shovel. The plastic snow shovels are no match for this mess.
adelphi_sky
Quick question. Just thinking when is the best time to restock on food. If people hear the hint of another snow storm, the stores may have a small window of restocking before being ravaged again. Thinking that Tuesday may be the optimal time. Worst case, I do have tire chains if roads aren't that good yet.

Brutal work for only about a half inch of caked sleet
