It's not in the prototypical sense, but like I said earlier, probably difference between 10 and 14-15", as opposed to 1 to 2 or 3 feet.

Yeah I like that look. Delays the overrunning some with the lower heights north of us but you still have a ton of energy diving down the backside ready to crush that baroclinic zone. Too bad it’s the clown range NAM 

Fwiw 3k at hr60 had heights a tick lower north of us compared to 12k

I do think there's a limit to how far north this will go, and we always have to watch for the ole messenger shuffle regardless.

Isn’t this an extreme cold setup. Saturday is going to be frigid. Wouldn’t think this keep things south and make it harder to bump north or does this system carry so much warm gulf air north that it can override the cold. It seems like a really unusual setup overall.
