Wild to see the difference though between this and the WSW lol. 6-11 in Allentown, 10-16 from WSW
Ralph Wiggum
So what is the verdict? Shovel/snowblow before the change or will that just make surfaces worse with ice? This mess should be light enough that a crust on top *shouldnt* make it too difficult or jam the snowblower. What are you guys doing?

Literally no one in the entire area, not even Delaware is mixing yet. 4

It most certainly is not sleet.

My main concern is power outages. We need to stay snow and sleet as long as possible I’ll worry about clean up later. If your shoveling snow blowing wouldn’t go down to paved unless you are an ice skater. Watching the freezing rain down in NC that’s moving right on up power outages already beginning there. currently 11f humidity 94% dew point 10f Total Snow: 3.5”
Physicsteve
Mod snow and like an inch and a half currently. Think Im going to snowblow at like 5-6” which should be easy peasy and *hopefully* have there be a few inches of snow as a buffer between the sleet and surface for round 2 later. Im anticipating flipping around 1-2, so maybe around 11ish? Seems like a ‘responsible’ time for that Snowy Night as well.

If we do get sleet up here, I think leaving it on top of the snow is best. Might make clean up harder, but it's better than cleaning up ice IMHO. However, if we get up to a foot before the end, I'll go out and snow blow before the end.
Hurricane Agnes
Just went out and measured and have 2.0" on the nose of literal baby powder snow. The kind that every kid would hate trying to make snowballs or a snowman! It started here around 3 am so just over 4 hours and apparently at around 1/2" per hour. The intensity has picked up some though. Temp is 11 with dp 9, so a rare bitter cold/dry snow - similar to what I recall in 1996 except half the temp (that storm had temps IMBY holding around 23F through much of it)! You can always chunk and flick away a top crust and have powder underneath that you could probably use something like a leaf blower to move around. Leaving bare pavement with sleet/ZR means whipping out the ice chopper and some good rock salt or something to make a dent in it and a snowblower would choke on that (they often choke on wet snow as it is).
