My temp didn’t go above 31 this afternoon and at 4:30 already down to 27.5

26F - probably due to elevation (and unblocked western exposure), I'm often just a tick colder than you when the UHI effect is more muted (like right now).

Models don’t help me much about snow but they do seem to get extreme winter temp onsets correctly.  Those temp projections are 1982 1994 like with DC area highs around 10 and low -5.  I’m unsure we can do that kind of cold around here anymore but maybe we get a chance to see

we basically are unblocked from the west for 15-20+ miles, so whenever we have a west or NW wind, it is REALLY windy here.  The cold just blows in.

26 out with the sun trying to hang on. Clouds are coming in though.

So what is this I hear of a possible snow storm tomorrow? Looked at the other thread and is it correct that we could get a decent amount tomorrow? Reason for asking is the kid who goes to school in PA starts her second semester on Monday. So either tomorrow or Sunday is her travel day back. We had already this morning decided on Sunday but looking at the other thread that may confirm our choice. As she is now driving herself back and forth we do not want any bad weather. And she takes 15 all the way up until she has to shoot West to Carlisle.

Low of 22.

Always appreciate your tidal/ice obs. Hope to see more ice back sometime soon.

I miss last January. Here in the lowlands alone the South River the wetlands all froze solid. The tributaries froze up pretty nicely as well. I think it was 2018 we had a lot of ice in the Mid Bay region.

I find when dealing with the cold/dry blues, frozen bay water helps lol. You too are on the frozen bay water lookout crew
