It was indeed one of those storms that kept you on edge with potential that threatened also, great disappointment. It came in after dark, and what followed was probably the best and most long lasting thunder snow I have ever experienced. It was gone by the next morning having left in its wake about 15" where I was, just west of Boston.

Ahhh. Feb 1983 that was a fun one. The biggest forecast bust in maybe my lifetime. I remember listening to Elliot Abrams on WHDH insisting the storm would still miss us as it was snowing heavily out my window. Kinda soured my opinion on Accuweather at a young age

Yep. Remember it well. Was in high school then. Was a Friday getting OES thinking that’s all we’ll get. Then the storm hit that night. We’ve had ‘83, ‘96 and 2003 that come to mind that has bumped north for a hit. But old enough to remember PD1 in ‘79 and 2010 more recently that suppression can happen. Let’s hope the weekend event can bump north.

For sure to both of you guys. If we can get it to get up in here, I’m hoping the timing slows just a bit(6hrs even), as I’ll be heading back home on Sunday morning from N. Maine, and will be getting home about 1-2 pm. Obviously a Moot point if it misses.

Yeah it looks like an outgrowth of the original system sliding off the coast. An outlier but interesting. The South better get ready though. They have an HECS on the way.
