I don't think that is necessarily indicating a change to sleet, I think its indicating that as the DGZ begins to dry out behind the banding and precipitation rates taper off, precip could end as a bit of sleet pellets but that isn't going to negatively impact totals. All of the accumulation will have occurred by then

Yup…got home at 6:30..not a flake. Looked out at 6:45, and it was a wall.

Yep. Lots of icy/rimey sleet mixed in near NYC and the most organized bands are a bit north (or even east on LI)…11th hour rug pulls are the worst. But their loss is your gain and many others to the north.

I’m eyeballing at least 3” in less than 2 hours. Had to pick up my kid from work people caught off guard stuck everywhere. Haven’t seen snow coming down this hard in a long while

ya thats like 10 miles NNW of me , they've been in that band the entire time, it was 3" per hour for me, now it's down to 2" per hour since I'm just west of the band..
