I'm going to say something before the models change and I can't say it anymore:  At this point my area is one of the least likely parts of the greater NYC metro to have mixing issues this Friday/Saturday.

It's obviously subject to change, but there's a decent consensus that it'll start Friday late afternoon/early evening.

God, this area loves Boxing Day storms. Once in my life I want a true White Christmas - I’m talking snow in the air, snow on the ground, active beauty, not the nonsense that “counts.”

I'm not sure what it would take, but I think New York City has to move Christmas to the 26th, the historical difference is stark. Sorry Kwanza.

Ant should move up here to my area. Or Warwick, Pine Island, Goshen, etc.. It's a haven for active and retired NYPD and FDNY. I know several of them.

If this threat continues, then maybe we can get some play by play tomorrow through Friday. Haven’t done any of that since the mid February 2024 region wide SECS. That was also the last winter storm warning in NYC. 3-6” in immediate NYC but a general 6-8+ regionwide. And before that, the last winter storm warning in NYC was for the 8-12” near blizzard on 1/29/22. Needless to say, it’s been a while since NYC has had a winter storm warning and we’ve been able to some play by play.
