TheClimateChanger
While we haven't seen much smoke in a few weeks, with a return to more of a northwesterly flow pattern, some smoke and haze aloft is evident on visible satellite imagery this morning across southern parts of Canada, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern lower Michigan. Shouldn't be a huge deal but the HRRR-Smoke does show some elevated levels of near surface smoke for northeast North Dakota and far northern Minnesota later today.

Brian D
Looks like 1-3" of rain fell across areas of N MN (much of the state actually). Rain started late last night here with 0.46" (7am) and still raining. Pleasant wx on tap after this front leaves for the next week.
michsnowfreak
Had a rogue storm yesterday. 0.41" fell here. Forecast for the 4th was sunny all week until yesterday morning. This was a slow mover (ann Arbor to DTW corridor) but the only storm in the entire area.

Powerball
10 hours ago, nvck said: unbelievable 14"+ of rain in 24 hours in central texas, with some areas seeing 19" over 3days A couple things. 1. This specific area has desperately needed rain as they've been dealing with a multi-year severe drought since at least 2022. It's just unfortunate that it came in the form of a historic flash food event. 2. There have been 56 confirmed deaths so far, and there's still 27 people missing. This is in part because the worst of the flooding occurred in the middle of the night.
