I would guess you do better in the Fall and Winter/Spring where there is generally an easterly/northeasterly component to the flow. Also tropical systems that come ashore to the south and track inland.
dailylurker
Radar folded faster than a WSW in January lol. Hopefully it juices back up again.

Oh, the frustration of living here. The mountains are too powerful for these wimpy frontal passages and shortwaves for our valleys. We need more of the forcing that we had in May and June. Tomorrow looks like the better day for storms and heavy rain with a "cold" front in the area and impressively high PWATs moving in from the southwest.
Farmboy
Amazingly, just got an inch in 50 minutes here in North Arlington. Popped up out of nowhere.

I guess i have to carry on without the thunderstorm. The 200mg cookie and fat joint are a lock. It doesn't feel that bad out there today. Yesterday tried to kill me but my ac trick was there lol
Jrlg1181
One heck of a powerful storm just to my north by a mile , Stormy should be getting rocked... Just drove through it at least 2 inches had to have fallen in spots...

87storms
PA really does seem to do better with storms overall. I always kinda liked their climate (aside from probably more clouds). Less concerns about the sleet line in the winter and closer to shortwaves swinging through the Midwest. Their roads do suck, though.
CAPE
Surprisingly nice outside tonight. 72 and actually feels kinda coolish here in the woods. Not muggy at all. Sat outside drinking a Margarita listening to sounds of nature until some random mosquito found me lol.

high risk
Models have a good handle on the convection rolling across central and southern PA, but storms are now breaking out over northern VA. Curious to see how this evolves overnight.

Mrs.J
So got a nice .36” out of that storm. But you know it is still so humid out when the windows are all steamed up. Looking out the back I can usually see the tree line in the dark. But the windows are so fogged over you cannot see anything.
